Certified Coding Specialist

The Certified Coding Specialist is responsible for assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to the diagnosis and procedures as found documented in the Medical Record. This includes reviewing supporting documents, which substantiates the principle diagnosis of inpatients and outpatients. This postition is responsible for coding and posting charges as well as auditing accounts and training.
1. Previous experience and knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles
2. Ability to use electronic medical record system
3. Experience using Excel and Microsolf Office products
1. Experience in Cardiology coding
Job Specifications - Education and Experience
GED /High School Diploma: R
Certification(s): AHIMA or AAPC credential; CCS-P or CPC
Related Experience: 2 years directly related hospital/physician coding experience required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
